Cole Peters 2008 Reserve Grand Champion 4-H Wether Iroquois County Fair
Bred by Hillside Stock Farm Raised and Shown by Cole Peters
Dam: Star Sire: Rolly
We are located on the border of kankakee and Iroquois counties in northeastern Illinois. Just west of the little town of Chebanse, IL. Hillside Stock Farm was started in 1899 and has been in the Meyer family ever since. What began as a dairy farm had transitioned into a 30 sow farrow to finish in the early 80's. The year 2005 brought us into the Boer Goats. This farm has always had livestock, and the excellent facilities lend themselves well to change and growth. If you would have told us 25 years ago that we would have been raising Boer Goats we would have laughed. But they have brought us lots of joy. They are fun, relaxing, and easier to keep than cattle or hogs.
We really enjoy raising Boer goats an have come to love to learn the new personalities of each new addition. Hillside Stock Farm started with six commercial Boer crosses and have now grown to over 20 does. From Fullblood Boer to 50% Boer. From show wethers and breeding does to dinner for the local ethnic market, we probably have what you are looking for. Hillside Stock Farm is proud to work with the local 4-H and FFA clubs for their goat project needs.
Hillside Stock Farm is farmily owned and run by Rodney and Lori Meyer. Co-herdsman are Madelyn and Marshall Meyer.
If you are in the Chebanse, IL area, just call, we would love to meet you.
We have worked to put together some good genetics from around the midwest, these include: Ubora (ennobled), Eggsfile (ennobled), Toro (ennobled), CODI Bigdog (ennobled), Super Champ, NK 8 cylinders, NK CEO. The most recent addition to the herd is our new herd sire "TAZ" CJG3070 that we purchased in partnership with Boncher Farm, and have recently had collected for semen sales.
